At least three people were killed when a van drove into people in the Swedish capital Stockholm, injuring several people.
Only in December last year, a terrorist drove his truck into the Christmas market next to Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church in Berlin that killed at least 12 people and left nearly 56 others injured. Incidentally, the original truck driver was also one of the deceased as his body was found in the passenger seat. The assailant was a Tunisian failed asylum seeker. Just four days after the attack, the assailant was killed in an encounter with police near Italy’s Milan.
A similar incident took place last year in Nice, France on July 14, 2016 when a 19-tonne cargo truck drove into crowds celebrating Bastille Day killing more than 80 people and injuring at least 434. The truck driver was a Tunisian resident of France called Mohamed Lahouaiej-Bouhlel. The assailant was later killed during exchange of gunfire with security forces. One of the witnesses at the site told that there was total confusion and that he can;’t ascertain how many people are injured, adding that many people are shocked. Shots reportedly fired in the incident, say police.
