Farooq Abdullah demands Governor’s rule in Jammu and Kashmir
SRINAGAR: After his victory to Srinagar Lok Sabha constituecy bypoll, National Conference president Farooq Abdullah, has demanded Governor’s rule be imposed in Jammu and Kashmir.
Talking to the media here on Saturday, “I appeal to the Governor and the President of India to dismiss this government and impose Governor’s rule in the state where the people will get some respite and feel that such situation will not arise again.”
I will also say that the election in Anantnag should happen under the Governor’s Rule, he said. Otherwise it is unlikely that the people would get justice. The bypolls of the Anantnag Parliament seat have been deferred till may 25 by Election Commission.
He expressed gratitude towards the people who risked their lives to vote in “such a difficult situation.
