Thiruvananthapuram: Heavy rain continues in Kerala.
Almost 25 lives gone before the Onam Festival, which is coming a few days after.
Many districts collectors declared holidays to educational institutions including professional colleges.
The River Periyar overflowed. Kochi Corporation partly stopped pumping.
This is the first time in recent history. Due to this Kochi will trouble to get drinking water.
Mud and waste mixed with river water and the purification also meet much difficulties.
Karkkidaka vavubali is tomorrow. Almost all snan ghattas are in danger zone.

Unusual North east monsoon
This is the first in history. Usually the south west monsoon offers heavy rain during October November months in Kerala.
But this is unusual and furious rain all over kerala in Agust September months.
This monsoon provide 15 percentage additional rain to the state.
The main reason for this rain is strong wind along with the Low pressure which is formed near Odisha.

Vythiri of Wayanad received 91 centimeters in a day! Yesterday Nilamboor received 40 centimeters of rain but it is continuing along with strong flood.
Commandos including women are ready
This time government deployed commandos including women for rescue operations in the state.
Land sliding, flood, heavy rain, accidents, opening of dams etc are made trouble for the lives of people.
National disaster management team is also ready and started their works. A 24*7 help line started in many centers.
The rescue operations controlled and co ordinate by state police monitoring room and control room.I
R battalion is also deployed in the state. police force will camp in night also.

Cheruthoni dam, a part of Idukki dam again opened its shutters today in the morning.
Now 2,3,4 hutters remains opened. 40 centimeters each shutters lifted.
The dam is filling fast. It reached crucial 2400 feet.
1.25 laksh cumex water per second flushing out from the dam.
It is unusual to open the dam shutters in night. Yesterday night also the dam opened.

Revenue offices in high alert
In the heavy rain, the entire revenue administration system in state has been put on high alert.
All revenue offices in the state right from the district collectorate to tauk and village offices will function round the clock notice.
This was announced by revenue minister E Chandrs Shekharan after emergency meeting convened by the CM today.
The meeting directed the revenue department to take over the coordination of the rescue missions undertaken by various departments and also armed forces.
A Special cell has been constituted for the purpose.
Unusual circumstances says authority
“it could be for the first time that such a large number of dams have been opened together.
I can say for sure, this is an unsusual situation during many years.
Dams are not opened every year” – Justice Ramachandran Nair said
Nedumbassery in trouble
The dams are remains opened and the nedumbassery airport, Kochi in trouble.
Water level increases here. Authorities likely to stop the services.
Army and IAF have been deployed in Idukki and Wayanad for evacuation,
relief and rescue operations following unprecedented rain in the hill areas.
IAF has deployed two helicopters to air drop essential and medicines and for any evacuations.
Two AN 32 transport aircraft of the IAF had been flown from the Sulur air base.
One touched to kochi and the other moved to kozhikkode.
