Ranchi: Ambassadors’ Roundtable for upcoming “Global Agriculture & Food Summit 2018” was initiated by The Govt. of Jharkhand.
As a part of its endeavor to develop agriculture sector in the state and with a view to provide a focused platform to the prospective investors in the Agriculture & Food Processing Sector.
It is being organised as “Global Agriculture & Food Summit 2018” in Ranchi, Jharkhand on 29th & 30th November 2018.
In this regard, the Govt. of Jharkhand organised an Ambassadors’ Roundtable meeting today
19th September 2018 in partnership with Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) in New Delhi.
Twelve Ambassadors and Diplomats from eight countries attended the meeting,
these include France, Japan, Russia, Vietnam, Philippines, Czech Republic, Nigeria and Kenya.
The high-profile delegation representing the Govt. of Jharkhand for this meeting
included Shri Mast Ram Meena, Resident Commissioner, Ms Pooja Singhal, Secretary
Department of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry & Cooperative,
Shri Vinay Kumar Choubey – Secretary Industries & Secretary IT & e-Governance,
Mr. K P Balyan, PS to Chief Minister and representatives from the Knowledge Partner Ernst & Young.
Shri Vinod K Jacob, Joint Secretary, MEA and Shri MLK Raja, OSD (States), MEA
were also present at the meeting along with the representatives from Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MOFPI).
The objective for the roundtable was to brief the diplomatic community
regarding the upcoming Summit and to take their views and suggestions
for successfully holding the summit.
The details of the Summit, along with the strengths of the state in the Agriculture Sector were shared with the diplomats.
Shri Vinod K Jacob, Joint Secretary, MEA gave a warm welcome to Ambassadors and other diplomats.
He congratulated Govt. of Jharkhand for successfully undertaking the Investment Promotion Program of the State.
Ms Pooja Singhal and Mr. Vinay Kumar Choubey gave a detailed presentation on the Agriculture Sector in the state and briefed the audience regarding the investment climate, investment opportunities and policy framework for the Agriculture & Food Processing Sector in the state.
They also shared the details of the upcoming Summit to the audience.
Ms Pooja Singhal, in her address to the Ambassadors and Diplomats, invited all their respective countries to associate with Jharkhand as a Partner Country for the upcoming Summit.
The response from the Ambassadors and diplomats was very encouraging, which was evident from the queries and further information sought by them in regard to the upcoming summit and the proposed Partner Country Association.
Shri Mast Ram Meena, Resident Commissioner concluded the session with his closing remarks.
At the close of the roundtable, representatives from the Govt. of Jharkhand felicitated the representatives from the Embassies and the Ministry of External Affairs and extended thanks for the interest shown by them for the Upcoming summit.
The meeting ended on a positive note and further strengthened the relationship between Jharkhand and prospective Partner Countries which attended the roundtable.
